​My piece is based on upcycling and refashioning the clothes and materials you all ready have. It is my Dads suit jacket in which I reconstructed and added an old curtain I purchased in a charity shop 2 years ago. I fabric manipulated the curtain into ruffles and added it to the jacket to give it a new lease of life. I tried to relate the project back to my own life in hope it would relate to people, I work in retail and in my job my uniform is whatever is in season and being sold in the shop, therefore I don’t have full control over my consumption of materials. This piece is to represent using your resources and how you can change up your clothes and materials into something new. I also looked into trends right now and how you can change your old clothes into something that is trendy right now. While doing making this piece I also took the time to use my resources and start a Depop account in which I sold my Old clothes.
